Media Leader Brings Deep Industry Experience to Drive Growth Across Europe, the Middle East and Africa
SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (August 18, 2025) – Greenfly, the leader in powering content operations for the world of sports and entertainment, today announced Eugene Cariaga has joined the company as a Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, EMEA. Based in London, Cariaga will lead Greenfly’s regional growth and strategic partnerships across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, fueling the company’s global expansion efforts.
“I’ve followed Greenfly’s evolution closely over the past decade during my time at Getty and I’m excited to join the company that’s shaping the future of content in sports and entertainment,” Cariaga said. “As short-form content continues to become of increasing importance to how fans connect with their favorite players, teams and brands in real time, Greenfly’s technology is powering how rightsholders deliver that experience at scale. The EMEA team they’ve assembled is world-class, and I’m thrilled to now work alongside them as we continue to expand across the region.”
Cariaga brings deep experience across sports, media and global events, with a focus on strategic partnerships and rights management. He spent over 20 years at Getty Images, most recently as Senior Director of Sports and Entertainment (EMEA), where he led partnerships across the Olympic and Paralympic events and managed relationships with leading rightsholders and brands. Prior to Getty, Cariaga held a senior commercial role at IMG, overseeing the International Olympic Committee (IOC) account and driving global licensing efforts for Olympic archival footage.
“Expanding our footprint in EMEA takes more than a great product, it requires deep relationships and on-the-ground expertise,” Greenfly Managing Director of EMEA Nick Shaw said. “Eugene’s track record working with some of the world’s biggest sporting events and rightsholders makes him an invaluable addition to our team. I’m looking forward to working closely with him to help partners across the region build the infrastructure needed to connect with today’s audiences and unlock the full potential of their short-form content.”
“Eugene brings a rare combination of deep regional knowledge and a global perspective on the content opportunities available to our partners,” Greenfly CEO Daniel Kirschner said. “His ability to connect strategic vision with practical execution makes him a perfect fit as we expand our presence in EMEA. We’re thrilled to have him onboard to help rightsholders and brands unlock the full value of their content.”
Cariaga’s experience across commercial strategy, content licensing and global partner engagement uniquely positions him to help Greenfly continue scaling in the EMEA region as more leagues and organizations turn to short-form content to drive deeper fan engagement, elevate athlete visibility and unlock new revenue streams.
